- Card processing
- Card payments are processed by Stripe and settled on your connected account. The rate depends on the card your client uses \u2014 about 1.5% + 20p on a standard UK card, more on a commercial or overseas one. We set aside 2.8% + 20p up front and refund the difference once the payment settles, so you pay Stripe's real cost and nothing more \u2014 capped at 2.8% + 20p even when the card costs us more than that. Not an additional platform fee.

- Your first workspace is included. Add a workspace when you launch another brand \u2014 £19.99/month or £199.90/year each, with its own profile, packages and diary, run separately. Move to Studio when you're running several with a team and want one diary and dashboard over all of them.

Questions suppliers ask before joining
Is there a free plan for event suppliers?
Yes. The Free plan includes a live public profile, proposals, e-signed contracts, secure payments, messaging, and an availability calendar at no monthly cost. It carries a 6% fee, taken from each payment as your customer makes it and returned pro rata when you refund them through Build My Event; the Pro plan (£29/month) removes that fee on every booking, however it came in.
Do I pay for leads or enquiries?
No, never. Build My Event has no per-lead charges, no credits, and no pay-to-quote system. Direct enquiries and marketplace opportunities are included on every plan — you only ever pay a subscription (or the Free plan's 6% on payments your customers actually make).
What stops me accidentally double-booking?
Every incoming enquiry, matched brief, and proposal you build is checked against the bookings you've already taken. If a date clashes, you're warned straight away — on the lead, on the opportunity, in your weekly summary, and by email. It's advisory: a clear heads-up, never a block, because some suppliers run more than one team. On Pro, an AI check goes further and weighs the travel time between two same-day jobs to tell you whether you could realistically make both.
Do my clients need a Build My Event account?
No. Proposals, contracts, and payment all happen through a private link you send. Your client can review your proposal, e-sign the contract, and pay the deposit without signing up for anything.
Can I use it for enquiries from other platforms or my own website?
Yes — that's the point. Wherever an enquiry starts (a directory listing, social media, word of mouth, your own site), you paste one proposal link and run the rest of the booking — quote, contract, deposit, instalments — in Build My Event.
How do I get paid?
By card, through Stripe Connect, straight to your own bank account. Deposits are paid when the client accepts and instalments arrive on the schedule you set, with automatic reminders. Funds are never held by us.
What does the Pro plan cost, and is there a trial?
Pro is £29 per month, or £290 per year (two months free). Every paid plan starts with a 30-day free trial, and you can cancel at any time — your plan simply runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
Does the AI write my proposals?
It writes the message, not the numbers. With Draft with AI (a Pro feature) you get a first-draft personal message grounded in the package you've chosen and that specific enquiry. It never sees or sets your price, and it can't add inclusions that aren't already in your package — your pricing and what's included always come from you. You review and edit every draft before it sends.
I currently use a US tool like HoneyBook — can I switch?
Yes. HoneyBook supports businesses in the US and Canada only, so UK suppliers can't take payments through it. Build My Event covers the same core workflow — enquiries, proposals, contracts, invoicing-style payment schedules — with GBP pricing, UK contracts, and payouts to a UK bank account.
